There’s no one-size -fits-all approach to therapy. I tailor our work to you, combining evidence-based strategies with warmth, humor, encouragement, and practical tools you can use outside of our sessions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Our thoughts can have a powerful impact on how we feel and respond to situations. Using CBT, I’ll help you recognize negative or unhelpful thought patterns, challenge them, and develop healthier ways of thinking. We’ll also build practical tools you can use when anxiety, self-doubt, or overthinking shows up in everyday life.
Client-Centered Therapy
Therapy should feel like a place where you can be yourself without worrying about being judged. I provide a warm, genuine, and supportive space where you can talk openly, better understand yourself, and explore what you want for your life.
Strengths-Based Therapy
It’s easy to focus on what isn’t working and overlook everything you’re already doing right. I’ll help you recognize your strengths, build confidence, and use those strengths to navigate challenges and move toward the life you want.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Sometimes a problem can feel so overwhelming that you don’t know where to begin. Together, we’ll identify what you want to change, focus on what’s within your control, and break larger challenges into realistic, manageable steps.
Meet Tara
I’m Tara Flynn, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable enough to be yourself.
My style is warm, down-to-earth, and nonjudgmental. There’s often humor and laughter in my sessions, but we’ll also do the work. I’m an active therapist, which means I won’t just sit back and listen week after week. We’ll identify patterns, challenge negative thoughts, problem-solve, and build practical tools you can actually use outside of therapy.
I especially enjoy working with women and young adults who are figuring things out—relationships, college, careers, confidence, life transitions, or simply what they want their lives to look like.
My Background
My experience in mental health settings, schools, and private practice has given me a strong understanding of the pressures adolescents, young adults, and women face at different stages of life. My background as a guidance counselor and school-based therapist also shaped my interest in helping people recognize their strengths, discover what excites them, and find direction when they’re unsure what comes next.
What You Can Expect From Me
Warmth. Humor. Honesty. Encouragement. Practical tools.
And someone who will genuinely root for you.
